| Applicants must have |
- an M.D. degree or a Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences
- completed clincial residency training in specialty, if an M.D. applicant
- a three-page mentored research project proposal accompanied by a letter from the mentor

| Applicants must also complete the UT Houston MPH application, as a non-degree student, along with UT Southwestern TCPOR application to ensure credit for MPH classes. |
