Project title: Studies of delta FosB Induction by Drugs of Abuse

Brief Description of Project:

Mr. Elmore will study the induction of the transcription factor delta FosB in the brain in response to chronic administration of drugs of abuse. He will define regions of brain where delta FosB is induced and characterize the neuronal cell types involved. This study will involve the use of immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, including state of the art double- and triple-labeling methods.

N/A at UTSW (although Dr. Nestler does have an established track record at Yale, where he served on the UTSW faculty for many years prior to joining UTSW in 2000).
