Project title: Renal Function and LV Mass and Function: The Dallas Heart Study
Human subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable): 112004-015
Animal subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable):
Project Type (patient-based research, animal-based research, or basic research; this characterization is only to permit a general classification for grouping similar types of projects) Patient based
Brief Description of Project:
Using the Dallas Heart Study as a platform, we will examine the basis of inter-individual differences in LV structure and function with a focus on the impact of renal disease including microalbuminuria. Multivariable models will be constructed to assess the independent contribution of renal abnormalities on changes in LV mass and LVEF, stratified by ethnicity.
