Project title: A novel method in making useful
polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies
Human subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable):
Animal subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable): IUCRAC#
0160-05-02-1
Project Type (patient-based research, animal-based research, or basic
research; this characterization is only to permit a general classification
for grouping similar types of projects)
Brief Description of Project:
We work with rabbit and other animal models in designing and creating polyclonal
and monoclonal antibodies using a novel
biodegradable cationic microparticle. Different methods and techniques are researched
and experimented with to identify
which will induce the greatest serum antibody response and cytotoxic T lymphocyte
response.
Previous Research Activities or Publications with Medical Students:
Nathan York, MD, PhD student. He has been working with me during the summers
only, but no publications as of yet.
