Project title:"Long term follow up of patients treated with sertraline
for cholestatic pruritus"
Human subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable): 0502-235
Animal subjects IRB approved project number (where applicable): N/A
Project Type patient-based
Brief Description of Project:
This project involves contacting all 21 patients that participated in our pilot study of sertraline as a treatment for cholestatic pruritus and obtaining long-term follow-up of what has happened to their pruritus over the last 2 years. Lab experience is not needed and not necessary, but some clinical experience is helpful. The ideal candidate would have great people skills and persistence, as most of the work entails getting medical histories over the telephone or in the office. The results could be summarized and written as a letter to the editor or short article in Hepatology (the journal that published the pilot study) at the end of the summer.
