Brief Description of Project:
In this project we explore the diagnostic and prognostic potential of SPECT imaging of regional cerebral blood flow in dementing disorders, including Alzheimer's Disease. In addition we investigate the use of cutting edge MRI techniques, including Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), high resolution voxel-based morphometry, and FLAIR imaging to assess leukoariosis. All aspects of our neuroimaging efforts are focused on developing an understanding of the impact of vascular risk factors for Alzheimer's Disease in the onset, severity, progression and response to therapy of the disease.
