Brief Description of Project:

Using mice bearing human transgenes PD/APP we are attempting to follow the evolution of Alzheimer's disease from birth to the development of clinical Alzheimer's disease in the mouse, using appropriate controls. Experimental procedures will include small micro/PET imaging, using an experimental radiotracer and special techniques to evaluate apoptosis, with special interest in the Ca ion. The student will participate in the handling and imaging of research mice.
