Brief Description of Project:
This study evaluates metabolic changes following surgically induced witht loss.  It considers change in ectopic triglyceride (TG) content, pancreatic TG content and β-cell function, temporal relationship between changes in ectopic fat contnt at several sites, dynamics of change of subcutaneous, visceral, and ectopic fat deposition sites following surgery and change in TG content, visceral and subcutaneous fat, insulin production and sensitivity during 2 week low calorie diet prior to surgery.  The student will be analyzing existing data set.
