Brief Description of Project:
1.double blind, placebo controlled, randomized trial comparing rivaraxoban to lovenox in medical acutely sick pts for reduction of thromboembolic disease.

2. In this va cooperative study, we are randomizing copd pts who had at least 1 admission for copd exacerbation in last 1 year to either control group or education group. Goal is to see if education about the disease and management makes a difference in course of disease.
