Project 1 Clinical study to investigate the effect of Vitamin-E
as an antioxidant in postmenopausal women.
Women are requested to enroll in a 12-week blinded, placebo controlled study
of 3 groups (1) Vitamin-E alone, (2) Vitamin-E plus Premarin or (3) Vitamin-E
plus Premarin and Provera. Bloods are collected at baseline, 6 and 12 weeks.
The plasma is stored at - 80C and will be analyzed for antioxidant activity
as well as a marker for coronary artery disease.
Project 2 The purpose of this study is to determine the role of
dating of the endometrium in infertility.
2 Groups of women, either infertile or recently fertile women are being recruited
to the study. An endometrial biopsy is performed either 7 days or 14 days postovulation
as based on LH testing kits. The biopsies are then read blind by the pathologist.
Additional tissues are stored for futher RNA analysis.
